From the Past at North Lake

Rob and Rick Clements, and Rex Clements with the sailboat Rob and Rick built from scratch with a Popular Mechanics pattern, taking all winter in their Elmwood garage.

I remember the old inboard boat "Clem" dad's cousins built after the war.
The ski rope was a heavy hemp rope out of a barn with a home made stick handle.
The skis were home made long white wooden ones with used inner tube rubber for the boots.
Clem had an army surplus jeep engine.
Sometimes it would sink if you left it tied to the dock overnight.
Then it would go on shore upside down for another layer of fiberglass.  -Rob Clements
